Get start on how does an air-conditioning unit works
An air-conditioning works by drawing warm air from the interior and passing it over the evaporator coils (where the refrigerant goes). The aluminum coils cools the air and the interior fan releases the cooled air back to the room. This continuous-processes end until the room achieve the temperature you have set, the thermostat senses the temperature has reached the right setting then turns off the in the outdoor unit (the compressor) but it won't goes off, it would slow down the compressor instead.
During the air-flow process, the dusts and dirt stick to the filter as well as the evaporator coils. Overtime the evaporator coils (usually slightly moist), will be covered in dust and moulds.
What is the cost if our air-conditioning unit is dirty?
The cooling capacity will deteriorate as there is too much dust and mould (also mildew growth) on the evaporator coils preventing effective cooling effects also your health.
Dusts and moulds accumulate to the point that it blocks the drainage pipe which in some cases lead to leakages and damaging walls or water dripping from the air-con
Younger family members or those with weaker respiratory system may experience allergies like sneezing, asthma, bronchitis etc
Major damage to walls, as the drainage pipes are all clogged. The end solution is to redo the pipes and the walls with water proof isolation.
I often clean my filter, do I still need a proper clean by professionals?
That depends, if you remove your filter and look at the evaporator coils, if they are black/grey, then you should clean the filter.
How does V repair clean an air-conditioning unit?
We have subject matter experts who will arrive with all the gear and cleaning substances required and deliver the irreplaceable repair service experience to our customers.
First, we will layer down all the protection sheets around the area to ensure nothing else will get wet during the cleaning process
We will then test the air-con to ensure, there is no pre-existing issues
Mild chemicals, specifically used to clean aluminum evaporator coils, will be spray and then rinse thoroughly with water
To the extent that we see some blockage to the drainage pipe, we will also clear it
